This Intersect360 Research report presents an overview and outlook for Huawei in the worldwide high performance computing (HPC) market, as of December
Huawei is a major vendor of servers, storage, and cloud solutions for the worldwide HPC market. Intersect360 Research tracks HPC server revenue for Huawei.
Additionally, we estimate revenue from storage, but in 2018 this fell below the threshold we used for reporting. Drawing on market tracking and surveys
from the Intersect360 Research HPC advisory service, this report includes:
- Revenue share for Huawei in HPC servers for 2018, with change from 2017, and discussion of Huawei’s position with respect to storage and cloud computing
- Relevant supporting data from Intersect360 Research end-user surveys
- SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats)
- Recommendations to Huawei
In 2019, the U.S. Department of Commerce (DoC) placed Huawei and over 100 of its affiliates on its “Entity List,” restricting Huawei’s ability to avail
itself of U.S.-made technologies and hindering its ability to operate in the U.S. Huawei has reacted by separating U.S.-based personnel into a subsidiary
research arm, FutureWei, which does not manufacture or sell products. These U.S.-focused developments have had a halo effect into Europe and other
regions outside the U.S. and China.
