Industry Veteran Brings Deep Expertise to Leading Research Firm

SUNNYVALE, CA—December 8, 2022— HPC, AI and hyperscale analyst firm Intersect360 Research today welcomes Steve Conway to its team as a Senior Analyst. A 30-year HPC industry veteran, Conway comes to Intersect360 Research from Conway Communications, where he was President of HPC and AI Industry Analyst Services.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be working with Steve again, and it’s great news for our clients,” said Intersect360 Research’s CEO Addison Snell of this strategic addition. “Steve’s deep expertise in special topics—such as AI, European markets, and the use of HPC by industry—will pay immediate dividends on the projects we have lined up for 2023.”

Conway brings outstanding synergy to the Intersect360 Research analyst team, including deep understanding of the long-range industry dynamics of disruptive technologies such as machine learning and cloud computing. In recent years, he has been central in tracking developments in the European supercomputing market under the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking.

Intersect360 Research’s Chief Research Officer, Dan Olds, warmly welcomed Conway to the firm. “I’m really excited to be working with Steve. We’ve all known each other for years, but this will be the first time we’ve combined our strengths and it’s going to be exciting! Steve brings more to the table than I can list; he’s deep in nearly every area of HPC.”

Conway concurs. “I’m excited to be reuniting with my former colleagues Addison Snell and Dan Olds, and to help with the leading-edge work Intersect360 Research has agreed to perform for its sterling roster of HPC clients in the Americas, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.”

Conway is widely respected by stakeholders throughout the HPC ecosystem, including government labs, industrial R&D, and technology vendors. Michael Resch, Director of the High-Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS) and Institute for High-Performance Computing (IHR), said, “With Steve Conway moving to Intersect360 Research, one of the leading experts in understanding both HPC technology, applications, and markets joins one of the leading HPC market intelligence companies in the field. Having spent more than 20 years with Steve I greatly welcome this move and look forward to working with him in the future.”

Suzy Tichenor, Director of Industrial Partnerships Program, Computing and Computational Sciences at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, agrees. “Steve Conway is one of the most knowledgeable analysts of the global HPC market. I’ve read and followed his work for years.”
